Growing Communities of Mutual Support – A Microsolidarity Practice Journey

Growing Communities of Mutual Support – A Microsolidarity Practice Journey
A collaboration between The Garden and the Church of Interbeing.
📅 6 in-person sessions: Tuesdays, 21 October – 25 November 2025, 7–9 pm, at the Gemeindesaal, Berlin-Neukölln, plus an online community space for further practice and materials.
🧭 Overview
We are living in a time of overlapping crises – climate collapse, social polarisation and a growing epidemic of loneliness and depression. In the face of current challenges, Margaret Wheatley reminds us: “Whatever the problem, community is the answer.” But how do we actually build community – real, nourishing, resilient community – in our daily lives? This question is the starting point of our inquiry in the Growing Communities of Mutual Support workshop series.
The series is for anyone who longs for deeper connection, more meaningful support, and the kind of shared growth that happens when we truly show up for each other. Whether you’re looking to strengthen existing relationships or plant new seeds of belonging, this series will offer you useful tools, real-life practice and a community to grow with.
🌾 What to Expect
Over six weeks, on Tuesday evenings, we’ll gather in person to explore the art of building community through mutual support – drawing from Microsolidarity, Internal Family Systems, Nonviolent Communication, Theory U, The Art of Hosting and more.
Through interactive, small group practice, self-reflection and whole-group exchange, we’ll explore:
-
How to create welcoming group spaces rooted in trust and belonging
-
How to surface opportunities to help each other grow
-
What brings out our pro-social tendencies, like helpfulness and care
-
How to take these practices into our life, work and neighbourhoods
In addition to the in-person meetings, you’ll get access to an online space for access to resources and staying in touch between sessions.
🌟 What You’ll Learn
By the end of the journey, you will have:
-
Practised diverse formats for mutual support and community-building
-
Strengthened your capacity for deep listening and authentic sharing
-
Learned to clarify your needs and gifts, making it easier to give and receive help
-
Experienced what it feels like to belong to a supportive community
-
Gained tools to seed communities based on trust and care in your own contexts
Ultimately, this series is not just about learning new methods, it’s about experiencing and co-creating the kind of communities we long for, and the confidence to create such communities wherever you go.
👥 Your Hosts: Nicki & Jocelyn Endres
Nicki and Jocelyn are experienced facilitators and community builders who have spent the last ten years designing and hosting spaces for mutual support, collective learning, and regenerative collaboration. As stewards of The Garden (Nicki) and lead organiser within the Microsolidarity Network (Jocelyn), they’ve helped shape co-living experiments, peer-support crews, and gatherings across Europe. Drawing on their backgrounds in psychology, Nonviolent Communication, systems thinking, permaculture and spiritual traditions, they bring a lot of experience and a deep commitment to growing cultures of trust, care, and belonging.
While the journey is facilitated by Nicki and Jocelyn, this series is a co-creative inquiry in which we are all participant-researchers, at the same time being teacher and student.
